This is such a lovely lovely story.
A guy in San Francisco found a sewing machine that someone had thrown out and started using it to mend people’s clothes. Complete strangers who he had never met before. He says it was his way of paying it forwards:

“The sewing machine has become more than just the tool for mending,” explained Michael. “It’s also the tool for making people stop. It’s also the tool people feel really comfortable around.”
