My boys were playing rough last week and the result was a small hole in the back of the eldest’s t-shirt:


I wanted to get on and tackle it straightaway otherwise I knew it would be relegated to the mending pile and be mended ‘some day’, and when I remembered Erin’s idea of the first aid crosses as patches, I was actually a little bit excited. I checked with my son first if he would object to a very visible mend, thankfully he said “No” and even asked if it could be made into a proper red cross.

I raided my fabric stash and managed to find some white and some red fabric scraps, and ten minutes later….


I think he like’s it…
